What is the working principle of twin screw extrusion granulator?
The twin-screw granulator is composed of several parts such as a transmission device, a feeding device, a barrel and a screw, and the functions of each part are similar to that of a single-screw granulator. The difference from the single-screw granulator is that there are two parallel screws placed in the same barrel in the twin-screw granulator.
The twin-screw granulator commonly used in the extrusion of PVC profiles is usually closely intermeshing and counter-rotating screws, and a small amount of co-rotating twin-screw extrusion is also used, but usually it can only be operated at low speed, about 10r/min. within the range. The high-speed meshing co-rotating twin-screw granulator is used for mixing, exhaust granulation or as a continuous chemical reactor. The maximum screw speed of this type of extruder ranges from 300 to 600 r/min. The conveying mechanism of the non-intermeshing extruder and the intermeshing extruder is very different. Compared with the conveying mechanism of the single-screw granulator, the two are essentially different.
